Created by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena in 2009 as a denser, more intense expression of the original 2006 Terre d'Hermès, Terre d'Hermès Parfum deepens the house's meditation on man's relationship with the earth into its richest, most concentrated form. The opening is a vivid burst of orange and grapefruit, sharp and citrusy against a mineral backdrop. The heart introduces a distinctive flint accord — a signature Ellena touch that gives the fragrance its earthy, almost smoky mineral character, unlike anything in typical citrus-woody fragrances. The base is warm and enveloping, combining woodsy notes, oakmoss, and benzoin into a rich, chypre-woody finish with genuine depth and longevity.
On skin, Terre d'Hermès Parfum wears sophisticated, earthy, and quietly powerful — noticeably denser and more textured than the original Eau de Toilette, with a woody chypre character that carries real gravitas.
