Eligibility: The product must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition. Due to hygiene reasons, opened or used fragrances cannot be returned. Perfumes and cosmetics must have their seal fully intact — once opened, they cannot be returned. Exception: defective, damaged, or incomplete items. if your item arrived defective, damaged, or incomplete, it is eligible for return and refund regardless of the above condition, since the fault isn't yours.
Refunds: Refund will be processed within 14 days after the return is approved.

Launched in 2024 and composed by Hermès's in-house perfumer Christine Nagel, Barénia holds a distinctive place in the house's history — it stands as Hermès's first chypre fragrance, and one built around a material the maison has worked with for generations rather than an abstract idea. The name comes from Barénia leather, the supple, prized hide that has defined Hermès saddlery and leather goods for generations — so from the very start, this is a fragrance conceived as a scent-portrait of a material, not just a marketing concept.
The opening is unexpectedly bright for a chypre — top notes of miracle berry and bergamot give it a juicy, almost sparkling lift, closer to soft fruit than the citrus-heavy openings typical of the genre. At the heart sits white ginger lily — often called butterfly lily — a delicate, slightly exotic floral that keeps the composition airy rather than heavy. The base settles into patchouli, akigalawood, and oak, where the true chypre character and the nod to Barénia leather finally emerge — earthy, woody, and quietly sensual, closing what opened as a fruity floral into something far more grounded.
The bottle itself was designed by Philippe Mouquet, drawing inspiration from Hermès's Collier de Chien bracelet, balancing gentle elliptical curves against a metal plate set with domed pyramid studs — with one final stud molded directly into the heart of the glass as a quiet signature detail. The set pairs the 100ml bottle with a 12.5ml travel spray, so the same scent — and the same jewel-like design language — travels with you.
On skin, Barénia behaves like a true skin scent — Hermès describes it as bringing together strength and softness, and wearers consistently note it settles close to the body rather than announcing itself from a distance, while still lasting well through the day. It's often positioned as a fall-and-winter fragrance, where its warm spice, leather, and amber-adjacent notes feel most at home against cooler air, which makes it a natural fit for Dubai's air-conditioned evenings and the cooler months from November through March — though its fruity-floral opening keeps it wearable indoors year-round for anyone who prefers a refined, close-wearing signature over a loud one.
