Perfumes and cosmetics must have their seal fully intact — once opened, they cannot be returned. Launched in 2019 and created by master perfumer Sophie Labbé, Bvlgari Splendida Tubereuse Mystique Eau de Parfum is a bold, nocturnal love letter to one of perfumery's most captivating and complex flowers. For the first time, Bvlgari and their partner implemented an exclusive nocturnal harvest to capture the olfactory singularity of the night-blooming tuberose at its absolute peak — and the result is a composition that is reverent, mysterious, and utterly singular.
The opening is immediately intriguing — black currant and davana arriving together in a combination that is simultaneously fruity, slightly herbal, and gently bitter. The davana — a rare Indian herb with a naturally fruity, almost caramelised character — gives the opening a distinctive edge that prepares the skin for what follows in the most compelling way. Then the tuberose arrives, and it carries the entire composition alone — rich, creamy, and deeply sensual, neither gummy nor headache-inducing, but full and bodacious in the way only a truly great tuberose fragrance can be. Committing this fully to a single core note is a considerable act of faith, but Sophie Labbé pulls it off with complete conviction. The dry-down of vanilla absolute and myrrh is warm, resinous, and quietly addictive — the myrrh lending a slightly smoky, balsamic depth that gives the vanilla a darker, more complex character and keeps the composition firmly in adult, evening territory.
On skin, Tubereuse Mystique wears with a full, enveloping presence — projecting generously for the first hour before settling into a warm, skin-close floral that is deeply satisfying and consistently complimented at close range. Longevity sits at 6–8 hours on skin, with the vanilla and myrrh base carrying the scent longest.
