MUGLER

Founded in 1973 by French designer Thierry Mugler, the Mugler fashion house made its name with bold, sculptural silhouettes that fused haute couture with futuristic, almost cinematic drama — corseted waists, exaggerated shoulders, and metallic, robotic finishes that redefined power dressing throughout the 1980s and 90s. Mugler's runway shows were legendary spectacles in their own right, blurring the line between fashion and performance art.

The house carried that same fearless, transformative spirit into fragrance. In 1992, Mugler released Angel, the world's first gourmand perfume and a genuine industry disruptor — its bold patchouli-praline accord broke every convention of the time and went on to define an entirely new fragrance category. The masculine counterpart, A*Men, followed in 1996, bringing the same daring gourmand DNA to men's fragrance. In 2005, Alien cemented Mugler's reputation for radical simplicity, built around a minimalist trio of jasmine sambac, cashmeran wood, and white amber housed in an unmistakable star-shaped bottle.

Today, under the stewardship of Clarins Fragrance Group, Mugler fragrances continue to champion boldness, individuality, and transformation — instantly recognisable bottles paired with intense, unconventional compositions designed for those who want to stand out rather than blend in. From Angel to Alien to A*Men, the house remains synonymous with fragrances that are powerful, polarizing, and genuinely unforgettable.
