GOUTAL
Founded in Paris in 1981 by Annick Goutal — a former pianist who traded music for perfumery after training under perfumer Henri Sorsana in Grasse — the house opened its first boutique on rue de Bellechasse with a small collection of avant-garde, delicately composed fragrances. Her debut creation, Eau d'Hadrien, became an instant icon and set the tone for a house built on poetic storytelling and rare, luminous combinations, a style Annick described in musical terms, treating each scent as a "composition" of notes and harmonies.
Following Annick Goutal's passing in 1999, her legacy has been carried forward by her daughter Camille Goutal alongside longtime perfumer Isabelle Doyen, who continue to create new fragrances rooted in the founder's original spirit. Rebranded as Goutal Paris in 2018, the house remains true to its founding character: personal, evocative fragrances that read like fragments of a story, wrapped in elegant, distinctly French packaging.
